Message from the organisers:
As you will all be aware, the economy is challenging for businesses to keep the doors open, numerous job losses , employees forced to work shorter hours and a stressful time for those people leading a team and managing a business to keep doors open , pay the bills and do there very best to minimize staff redundancies. It's gut wrenching. Unfortunately this challenge has hit our major sponsors and many of smaller sponsors. Sponsorship $$ are the first expense to cut during company cost reductions and restructure. It is without doubt disappointing however doing everything in one's power to minimize job losses is more important than a fishing competition.
Sorry to say, the Metalcraft/Akarana Marsden Cove Marlin Classic 2025 is to be CANCELED for 2025 at this point in time.
We pay gratitude to everyone whom takes part in the competition, Anglers, Marsden Cove Fishing Club Fishing Club and members whom donate their time and all sponsors whom have supported us in past and hopefully continue when a positive economy returns.
We wish all those whom have lost their jobs due to company forced cost reductions no matter who you are, our very best wishes.
So sorry to be another leader having to be the bearer of bad news , but I am only one of many having to deal with the fall out from economic decline.
